She walks like a whisper
Like a conspiracy follows her
She’s no stranger to attention
All eyes covet her progression
Even misery longs to please her
With promises of utter devotion

But commitment’s not her intention
Neither the skillful liar nor true believer
Can successfully deceive her
No barrier nor prevention can forestall her
She moves like a savior
With certain purposeful behavior
She’s no soulless tease
Rather, her smiling demeanor
Confounds with blue eyed ease
None who seek her favor
To cure their lonely disease
Whether consumptive fever
Or lustful fervor
Can alter how she sees
